Confusing issue after freshly registering - password reset needed

Sorry if this is known, I did a search for "reset" and didn't find anything about it.
So I just registered on the site, and ended up on a page where nothing that I clicked had any effect. There was the red "You are not upgraded" line, the notification about a welcome message, several links but nothing happened no matter what I did.
In the end I noticed that weird "You have not logged in for a long time, please reset your password" note, which didn't make any sense as this was my first login ever, so I kind of disregarded it for a while.
But after trying a different browser and getting the same behaviour I ended up clicking that link, as a last resort. Only after doing that I could click the notification, message, see any board and view the account upgrade info.

This was very confusing, and I am not new to boards/forums ;) Maybe someone can fix this weird thing to help fresh registered people out, cheers.

@J_S:  Sorry I can't try again as it was resolved once I clicked that "You have not logged in for a long time, reset your password" link (it was fixed instantly, I did NOT need to actually reset my password). To try this again I would have had to delete my account and try making a new one :(

@Barry: I had no idea what was going on and thought it was ME who was doing something wrong. I dont just take screenshots whenever I stumble into any problem so I didn't think of having any thing to report until I figured out what was going wrong.:)

@Krollie: Ouch I did not notice there was a specific bug subforum too, I thought feedback would cover that ^^
